COGNIVUE MEMORY AND THINKING TEST AFTER WHIPLASH
Cognivue is a 10-minute computer check of memory, attention and reaction speed. After a whiplash injury or a blow to the head, it puts numbers on the brain fog people describe, so changes can be tracked over time.

Your physician asks for this test only when the result could change how we treat your neck. You only have it when it is ordered for you.
Why test thinking after a neck injury?
A crash that snaps the neck back and forth also shakes the brain inside the skull. Trouble focusing, losing words or feeling slow can follow, even when a CT scan is clear. Those complaints are easy to wave off. Measuring them gives your physician a starting line, and later tests show whether you are getting better. More on whiplash and care after a car accident.
What does it feel like?
Much like an easy computer game. Simple tasks appear on a screen and you answer them. No wires, no sensors, and no wrong way to feel.
How do you get ready?
Pack the glasses you read with. Try to sleep well the night before.
What should you tell us first?
- Let us know if a screen is hard for you to see, or if a computer mouse is hard for you to use
How long does it take?
About 10 minutes.
What to remember
- It scores memory, attention and how quickly you react.
- Your reading glasses come with you.
- Repeat tests show change over time.
Show us you have it: Let us know whether reading or using the screen gave you any trouble. At your next visit we go over it again, and we are glad to repeat any step you want to see twice.

This is one part of our physiotherapy program for neck pain. Every treatment here is ordered and overseen by a physician who has examined your neck, and none begins until a physician is on site and ready to step in at once.
Ask whether this test belongs in your workup
Your physician orders tests only when the answer would change your plan. We schedule it and follow it until the report is in.
